episcopal high school student center

Episcopal Highschool required a new building to serve as cafeteria, offices, performance venue and laboratory. For this purpose, Pete Ed Garrett, Micah Simecek and Gwyndolyn Mowbray with Studio Red Architects designed a 40,000 sf multi-purpose building.

University of Texas San Antonio. South Texas Research Facility

Designed by Josh Reuter and Rafael Viñoly with Rafael Viñoly Architects, this building provided new research space at the University of Texas' campus in San Antonio.  The building was designed to strict vibration criteria and includes an underground vivarium.

This project was designed and managed by Marco Cano working at Haynes Whaley Associates.

University of Houston Cougar Village II

The University of Houston continues to expand by adding another dormitory to house a growing student population. The 7 story concrete building was constructed using tunnel form system and concrete shear walls at the elevator walls. The project was a joint venture with Ensight Structural Eng. There were two arch. firms managing the project, Brave Architecture out of Houston and KSQ architects out of Oklahoma. 

This project was designed and managed by Oscar Valdez working at Haynes Whaley Associates.

Sam Houston State University Lone Star Hall

Lone Star Hall is a student dormitory located on the north side of Sam Houston State University campus. The building was constructed using load bearing metal stud walls with steel braces and a dovetail composite metal deck. Half of the building is supported on steel framing at the second floor to allow greater flexibility in the common/administrative spaces. The project was completed with architectural firm Kirksey with Brian Lemmon serving as project architect.
